ucisa 2020 TEL Survey

This is the tenth such survey since 2001; the longevity of the survey is testament to the value in which it is held in the community. The findings from the research will be published in September and will give an oversight to trends within UK HE and allow institutions to benchmark themselves against those trends. Previous surveys have been cited in over 400 journal articles, blogs, reports and conference papers, in the press (Education Today, Times Higher Education Supplement, Guardian) and strategic documents from HEFCE, HEFCW and Jisc. In addition, the survey team were awarded second place in the ALT Research Project of the Year 2019.

The 2020 survey has been designed to focus on the support for technology enhanced learning (TEL) tools, building on the question set of the nine previous surveys. The survey has retained the core of previous questions whilst updating some response options, thereby enabling longitudinal analysis to be performed over a series of surveys. Several questions have been removed to help reduce the time needed to complete the survey. While just a few new questions have been introduced to provide a greater level of attention to emerging trends such as Degree Apprenticeships and the use of the ucisa VLE Review Toolkit.
