Safety at UCISA22

As this is our first face-to-face conference in over two years, we are working hard to ensure this event exceeds all expectations and will live on in the fond memories of those attending. We want all of our delegates, exhibitors and speakers to enjoy this conference fully, and feel safe and confident that sensible caution is being exercised throughout. Therefore, we have some guidelines below we would like you to read before attending UCISA22.

If you feel more comfortable wearing a mask, then please do so – our staff will also be wearing protective face coverings at the Registration Desk on the first day of conference. Hand sanitiser will be available in the main venue (Manchester Central) and in the hotels, and we advise you to use this regularly.

Before attending the event, please take a COVID-19 rapid lateral flow test. These are currently freely available to order on the gov.uk website and provide some peace of mind for your colleagues and yourself. Should this show a positive result, we ask that you do not attend the conference. You may send a colleague to attend in your place, and the UCISA Team will be happy to swap your booking at no cost. Simply contact admin@ucisa.ac.uk to arrange this.

Similarly, if you feel unwell or show any symptoms of coronavirus, then please do not attend the conference. Out of respect for your peers across the sector, and indeed their health and wellbeing, please send a member of your team instead.

We recommend that you and your colleagues attending the conference establish a ‘Reserve List’ of potential attendees from your institution. The staff on this back-up list can then be called upon to take any places that may become available at relatively short notice, in the event of illness or a positive COVID-19 test result.

Two UCISA employees, Siân Thomas and Caroline O’Shea, are trained mental health first aiders (MHFA) and will be happy to support any delegates who may need mental health support during the conference. Please do contact them should you need support at any point – their details will be on the conference app.

Thank you in advance for your understanding and support in making the UCISA22 Leadership Conference the safe and memorable event you and your peers deserve.
