Doing the hokey cokey: The story of app development at the University of Glasgow
Sara Somerville and Julie Arbuthnott, University of Glasgow

How do you ensure user engagement after your app is downloaded from the app store? How do you mitigate against 50 year olds designing services for students? What an earth has this to do with the hokey cokey?!

This session with the UofG app team will discuss the different approaches they have taken to ensure that their UofG Life app continues to add value to the student experience beyond the initial few weeks; their iterative approach to development and how they have established the key partnerships required to deliver those ‘killer features’.

Cherry Doyle, Product Owner, University of Birmingham and Daniel Taylor, Sales Director, Ready Education

A personalised student journey? There is an app for that! At the University of Birmingham the goal is to give students everything they need and deliver a personalised experience. With MyUoB, they do just that. But how?

Cherry Doyle, Product Owner at the University of Birmingham, will talk about the different roles of everyone involved, how they work together to offer a convenient way for students to connect with a range of core services and personalised information, to support them in their day-to-day university experience.
