Support Services Group (SSG)

SSG’s remit is to help UCISA members get the most from IT, technology enhanced learning, and computer mediated communication systems

About the Support Services Group (SSG)

The SSG aims to identify and share innovative and best practice, and connect and develop the IT support services community through:

  • Seeking out innovation – horizon scanning and identifying hot topics
  • Running events – annual conference, workshops, webinars
  • Developing resources – case studies, good practice guides, toolkits
  • Monitoring practice – surveys, identifying trends, benchmarking
  • Connecting people – both physically and virtually, to support each other, share experience and best practice
  • Enabling the interface between central and distributed IT staff through empowering consultation and engagement with distributed IT staff
  • Contributing to UCISA policy development

Mailing List

The Support Services Group runs a mailing list which open to individuals from Full or Affiliate member organisations and provides a forum for sharing information and discussion on specific topics of interest to the Support Services Community. You can join by sending the following command to: join ucisa-ssg firstname surname or by using the JISCMail Web interface.

Group mailing list policy 

Group discussion lists are to be used by members to discuss subjects of common interest. People entitled to join the list are members of Full and Affiliate member institutions (ie not Corporate members). The lists should not be used to advertise or promote Corporate member or non-members events/services/products. These should be posted via the ucisa-announce list.
