UCISA is pleased to announce the launch of the Digital Education Group (DEG)

UCISA is pleased to announce the launch of the Digital Education Group (DEG). The Group aims to aims to identify areas of interest related to the use of technology in support of learning and teaching activities. It provides a forum for the exchange of information on the development and use of Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL), primarily through events and Best Practice Guides.  Formerly known as the Academic Support Group, the Group is responsible for producing the biennial Survey of Technology Enhanced Learning higher education in the UK and the supporting case studies, and has also published Best Practice Guides in the areas of Mobile Learning and Engaging Hearts and Minds.

As part of the launch, we are looking to recruit new members to the Group who have an interest in the use of Digital Education and are able to commit time towards the Group’s activities, such as running events, developing case studies or contributing to the TEL Survey. Group members must be from a UCISA Full member organisation and are expected to attend 4-5 meetings per year (typically online, but usually one face-to-face meeting). Participation in the Group offers a great opportunity to become involved in a national group looking at TEL beyond an institutional perspective. We are especially keen to attract early career learning technologists as this provides a unique chance to become more established in the field.

If you’re interested in finding out more, please see the DEG website or contact the DEG Chair (outgoing), Elaine Swift (elaine.swift@ntu.ac.uk) or DEG Vice Chair, Fiona Strawbridge (f.strawbridge@ucl.ac.uk)
