The premier IT event for UK universities and colleges - Newport 2012

UCISA is moving to Wales this year (for the first time) to Celtic Manor, Newport for our 2012 Annual Management Conference.  As usual, the Conference will address your top concerns, provide an opportunity to consult with your peers and valued partners and, over three focused days, provide the best value consultancy you can get.

The provision of sustainable services continues to be a challenge in the sector and will be the theme for this year’s Conference.  The Conference will build on the foundations of strong human, financial and environmental sustainability identified during the discussions in Edinburgh last year to consider the future role of IT services in universities and colleges.

2012, being the year of the Olympics in London, there may also be some competitive elements to the event.

The programme includes a wide range of Business and University Showcases. In parallel, we will be hosting the largest supplier exhibition for our sector with 60+ key partners and suppliers to the UCISA community.  We hope the exhibitors will also take an active part in the programme sessions, thereby enhancing the opportunities for all to exchange information and do business.

The Conference will once again include a formal Conference poster session within the exhibition.

The breakfast programme of one to one meetings between delegates and exhibitors, Meet the suppliers, on the Thursday morning that was introduced last year (as Up with the Larks) will be continued.  For those who are not larks there will also be the opportunity for meetings on the Wednesday evening.

The conference twitter hashtag is #ucisa12

Whilst we understand that delegates have to make travel arrangements for their return journey after the Conference on Friday, may we please urge you to make every effort to attend the closing keynote who, this year, is Eddie Obeng, who is an entrepreneur and founder of Pentacle, the world’s first Virtual Business School.  He is also the bloke behind:

  • the monetisation of MSN...
  • the turnaround of Rolls Royce Motor cars
  • the innovation burst at Cadburys
  • the delivery of successful innovation projects at IDEO
  • the turnaround at Magnet
  • the successful delivery of projects in GlaxoSmithKline
  • the successful deployment of Technology at Citigroup      ...and much more...

We invite you to join us at the UCISA2012 Annual Management Conference at Celtic Manor, Newport and look forward to seeing you there.
