Marion is an experienced business/continuous improvement practitioner and has worked in the university Business Improvement Team since 2013. She is skilled in project scoping, business analysis, business process improvement, change management, workshop facilitation and oral presentations. She worked previously as a Business Manager in a University of Aberdeen research unit, thus she brought a wide ranging knowledge of university systems and processes to the BI team. Marion also carries out additional roles within the university eg promotion committee member, mentor, Athena Swan group member and Women’s Development Network co-chair. Marion is a strong advocate for networking across the sector and is the chair for Lean HE Scotland and is also a member of Lean HE Europe. She was awarded a ucisa travel bursary in 2017 to deliver an oral presentation at the Lean HE Global Conference at Macquarie University (Australia). She contributes to articles in online media and also authored the book chapter Lean Training to Lean Projects which is included in “Global Lean for Higher Education: A Themed Anthology of Case Studies, Approaches, and Tools” (Productivity Press, 2019).
