Who we are

The Infrastructure Group concentrates on the technology and services that sit between networks and end-user applications, as well as service management processes that help underpin well-managed IT delivery – such as Service Continuity and Availability.  

What we do

Along with events, the Infrastructure Group fosters, encourages and shares inspirational thinking through networking events and publication of IT infrastructure case studies as well as conducting the ucisa Infrastructure Survey to share experiences with other institutions and get a unique insight into the infrastructure landscape across the sector.  The IG group also promoting best practice, the Group provides opportunities for personal and professional development as well as sharing supplier critiques based on genuine service and product experiences. Whilst the Software subgroup aim to promote and improve communication between suppliers and the community and engage with both major players and significant software suppliers to UK education so that they better understand the sector's requirements. We act as a focus for the community for software issues.

ucisa's infrastructure group promotes dialogue, networking, knowledge sharing and collaboration on network issues and other relevant topics of common interest. To take part, join the Infrastructure Group's email list hosted by JISCmail.

 

Member Email lists

Group discussion lists are to be used by members to discuss subjects of common interest. People entitled to join the list are members of Full and Affiliate member institutions (ie not Corporate members). The lists should not be used to advertise or promote Corporate member or non-members events/services/products. These should be posted via the ucisa-announce list.

The Software Group comes under remit of ucisa-IG, the Software Group acts as a forum for the HE and FE educational community wanting to promote the specific requirements of the sector to software suppliers and aims to promote and improve communication between suppliers and the community and engage with both major players and significant software suppliers to UK education so that they better understand the sector's requirements. We act as a focus for the community for software issues.
