About the Event
After the success of ucisa DCG Spotlight 5 we are delighted to announce the Digital Capabilities Group (DCG) will be collaborating with the Digital Education Group (DEG) again to organise this year’s event. It will take place on 3-4 June at the Birmingham Conference and Events Centre, just a few steps from New Street Station, in Birmingham.
If you weren’t able to attend the 2019 event, here’s what some of our delegates said:
"I wasn't sure what to expect and it was a smaller conference than others I have attended (in terms of numbers of delegates and sessions). This worked very well and allowed for much better networking and less FOMO."
"Really good. Packed with relevant, interesting sessions. A really worthwhile 2 days."
"[I] met lots of people from different types of support areas in a Uni -usually I just meet people in similar job to mine."
"Being able to hear what other institutions are doing to help develop digital capabilities"
This year, we are focusing on students: ‘Engaging students with digital capabilities’. The conference committee welcomes proposals for the following themes:
- Embedding digital capabilities in the curriculum
- Building digital capabilities for employability
- Developing digital capabilities with flexible learners (e.g. distance learners, commuter students, part-time, apprenticeships)
- Collaborating with staff and students on digital capabilities initiatives
We invite plenary speakers and parallel sessions from a wide range of roles, e.g. academic staff, academic development professionals, learning technologists, IT trainers, Library and other professional services, to share their experiences, practical advice, approaches and strategies to implement, embed and change institutions with our delegates.
Submit your proposals via our online form: https://forms.gle/iKbwYKkhd3adNq9Z6
Deadline for proposals: 23rd March 2020. Submissions will be reviewed by the conference committee. You will be contacted by email with the outcome of your proposal by week ending 10th April 2020.
ucisa aims to support as many members of its community to share their practice as possible. To this end, limited speaker funding is available for those selected to speak at the Spotlight conference.
