22 May 2020 - ucisa Leadership Survey – your help needed: Recruitment and Retention Guide

I am hoping that you will help advance this project, by encouraging staff in your institution to respond to a short survey here before the end of Friday 29 May 2020.

Last year at the ucisa19 Leadership Conference, ucisa members voiced the need for ucisa to highlight the huge range of career opportunities and benefits of working within the HE IT sector.  In parallel, there was a call for us to tackle the challenge faced by many in recruiting and retaining strong talent to our institutions.

We believe that now, more than ever, ucisa’s work on the HE IT sector Recruitment and Retention Guide is paramount. The circumstances we all find ourselves in have placed enormous pressure on IT departments to find solutions, fast. To keep pace with the growing demands upon our sector’s workload, our people are our greatest resource and their creativity and resilience is critical to the success of our institutions.

A cross representative community of institutions have been involved in steering a collaborative project in this area, with the deliverable objective of producing an online guide on attracting and retaining good staff in HE IT. We have also partnered with Domain7, whose experience in delivering digital projects across the HE IT sector has been essential to the success of this initiative.  See ucisa.civilspace.io.

You may be aware that an initial Interactive Session has taken place – the presentation slides and insights pack from that are shared on the website.  We now need your support and contribution to ensure the greatest benefit is derived from this work for the ucisa community.

Please help us to progress this project by encouraging staff across your institution to respond via Domain7's brief online survey here before the end of Friday 29 May 2020.

Many thanks for your participation and contribution to this research.

Best wishes,

Deborah Green
