Who we are
Research is important, even critical, to the majority of universities and generates billions of pounds for the UK economy. Our research provides vital income streams and the research feeds into our teaching, ensuring our students are taught using the latest knowledge. Aligning our digital research service provision with our research outcomes therefore becomes a crucial activity in optimising our researchers' ability to capitalise on research opportunities.
The UCISA Digital Research Community understands our vital place in supporting research. Digital services form part of every research project, funded or un-funded, underpinning their success. As a community we share ideas, challenges and opportunities that we, together or individually, experience right now or which may come to us in the future.
Our goal is to grow the awareness of research in digital, share advice and collaborate to improve how we support research.
What we do
The UCISA Digital Research Community joins likeminded individuals for sharing and collaboration across all UK tertiary education institutions. We promote the value of supporting research and understand that research sometimes requires alternative solutions to those offered across the broader spectrum. We add value to the sector through creating webinars, writing papers, providing support and generally being a reference point for the unique challenges we experience in supporting researchers and research-enablers in our institutions, not forgetting that we are research-enablers ourselves.
