About the Event

At the University of Edinburgh, we’re a historically devolved institution – 3 colleges, 21 schools, and various other departments. So when it came to rebuilding our course finder service (to advertise the 800+ programmes we market to prospective students!), we had a lot of work to do cut across our departmental silos and encourage everyone to participate.

In this case study of our new course finders, I’ll discuss the steps we’ve taken to support our efforts to govern and manage the course finders as a service, covering areas like:

  • Foundational governance structures that provided the project and team with oversight and influence
  • Identifying and managing ownership responsibilities within and outside the system
  • Policy, processes, and continuous enhancement
  • Bringing the group with us when participation is voluntary

We’re very much in the middle of this process (a content operations manager’s work is never done!) so please join if you’re interested to hear about our journey, web content governance, or content operations.
