About the Event

Research is the lifeblood of many universities, enabling academics to stay at the leading edge of their field to benefit their students’ learning, as well as advance innovation and enhance the University’s reputation and revenue.

The IT requirements of university research teams are often far removed from those of commercial workloads. In addition to vastly higher compute and storage demands, research workloads can be a lot harder to predict and liable to change significantly at very short notice. IT teams must also support data management, public portals, web applications, reporting, and security requirements.

In this session you will see how universities can scale up infrastructure quickly and easily, run applications and data services at any scale on a single platform on-prem and extend into one or multiple public clouds.

You will also see how the power can be put in the hands of the researchers themselves, giving them the freedom they require, whilst also maintaining the necessary controls for IT.

In addition, you will see a hands on demonstration of these capabilities and how simple they are to manage therefore not adding to the pressures IT are already under.
