About the Event

DCG Spotlight on digital capabilities: Digital skills, a priority or lip service?

Often, digital skills are said to be strategic priorities, often mentioned in university strategies and KPIs. However, the rhetoric does not always result in investment and action. The pandemic has highlighted the digital capabilities gaps and needs of staff and students. At this year's spotlight conference, we ask:

  • How do we ensure consideration of Digital Capabilities is embedded in all organisational activities?
  • How do we move from lip service to action?
  • How do we gain senior leadership investment in addressing digital capabilities needs?
  • How do we bring about strategic change?
  • How do we address digital capability gaps?
  • How do we encourage students and staff to recognise and articulate the digital capabilities that they have developed?
  • How do we embed a culture of continuous digital capabilities development?

our speakers will be sharing:

  • Successful (and unsuccessful) initiatives.
  • Techniques for gaining senior leadership buy-in.
  • Methods for gathering evidence of need.
  • Methods for measuring and evidencing impact
