Governance frameworks: are they life-long partners?
Okan Kibaroglu, Head of Business Operations, Imperial College London

When we needed a framework to get us going to implement our quality management system, we turned to COBIT 5 as a proven model for IT management and governance at Imperial College four years ago. With a model based on this comprehensive framework, we have achieved and maintained our ISO 9001 and 27001 certifications, as well as using this reliable structure as a stepping stone to rise up to various recent challenges, most notably, GDPR. Now we face another challenge, moving our IT to a product-based organisational model. Will this traditional governance model, which got us here, also get us there? Will we be able to remain partners? In this talk, we will investigate the pros and cons of governance frameworks and how you can analyse when they will be helpful to solve your problems.
