Membership benefits

 

UCISA is a registered charity and does not aim to make profits, setting fees only at a level sufficient to carry out its business.

UCISA represents almost all the major UK universities and higher education colleges and has a growing membership among other educational institutions and commercial organisations interested in information systems and technology in UK education.

Terms and conditions apply to all Membership types and are available to download

Certain events, such as conferences, carry an additional charge. Membership fees are reviewed annually at the Annual General Meeting, along with the budget and business plan. There are four membership categories:

 

Whatever your role, you'll find the UCISA's Strategic plan 'Building on Success' 2022 - 2027 will work for you as well as your institution.

Institutional membership is open to all universities, colleges and educational institutions regardless of size and location. Institutional members will benefit from full access to UCISA resources and mailing lists and is intended to promote the sharing and adoption of best practice. In order to facilitate a strong and collegiate community, information shared amongst institutional members should be retained within the membership; any transfer of material that could be deemed as commercial intelligence to parent companies , other organisations within the same commercial grouping or to any supplier or commercial provider is forbidden.

  • a full series of virtual events, free of charge to members
  • have access to protected areas of the UCISA website including detailed statistics
  • have full access to the UCISA Directory
  • receive reports and other communications
  • are eligible to be Officers, Group Chairs, Elected members of the Trustees or Leadership Council, and Group members
  • are entitled to vote in elections and at General Meetings (two votes per institution)
  • may register the names of up to five people as their UCISA Contacts
  • are entitled to join UCISA mailing lists including Directors, Announce and various Group lists 
  • pay lower members’ rate at face-to-face events and training courses
  • access to a library of recordings from our virtual events

 

Corporate membership is for commercial organisations. The purpose of commercial membership is to allow such organisations to gain an understanding of the issues pertaining to UCISA’s membership, their requirements and development plans which potentially benefits institutions (and hence the public) by driving more effective and efficient procurement processes.

  • the opportunity to partner our Institutional members presenting at our events
  • add links from relevant case studies or white papers on your corporate website that are specifically related to the subject of our events
  • have full access to the UCISA Directory (this includes named contacts within each institutional member institution) The data provided in the Directory may not be harvested or incorporated into any type of database, used to generate mailing lists, or employed for any promotional purpose. Use of the contact details for unsolicited marketing is not permitted
  • have automatic membership of UCISA's Announce mailing list
  • have limited access to protected areas of the website (including summary statistics and annual CISG survey, which many Corporate members find these very useful to give them a feel for trends within the sector)
  • annual audience with CIO panel for annual Horizon Scanning Event
  • bi-annual Trends analysis with UCISA CEO
  • opportunities for UCISA representatives to speak at supplier events and give briefings to outline the concerns and issues facing the community
  • attendance at most virtual events for free
  • access to a library of recordings from our virtual events
  • opportunities to offer discounts and benefits to UCISA members
  • the opportunity to use the UCISA member logo on your own website and publicity materials
  • 25% off University Business standard advertising rate card
  • Up to four corporate member mailings per annum (subject to availability), to draw attention to case studies, press releases, invitations or other marketing material. Please contact events@ucisa.ac.uk for further information regarding this.
  • be included in the Corporate Member focus on the home page.  Hit the refresh button on your browser a couple of times to see the result. To facilitate this we require a 50 word company profile, your company logo and a link to your website. Each company is selected at random every time a user visits the UCISA website
  • access to event sponsor packages (sponsorship is available for corporate members only). Please note – sponsorship is an additional cost
  • be included in the supplier showcase section on the website. Please contact events@ucisa.ac.uk for more details

Affiliate membership is open to organisations that are separate legal entities to their host institution (typically a full member), and other educational not for profit organisations. The purpose of Affiliate membership is to allow such organisations to gain an understanding of the issues pertaining to UCISA's membership and to engage with the UCISA community in order to inform their own strategies and development.

  • access to a library of recordings from our virtual events
  • have access to most protected areas of the UCISA website including summary statistics
  • have full access to the UCISA Directory
  • have full access to mini surveys
  • are entitled to join UCISA mailing lists including Directors, Announce and various Group lists but may not use the lists for marketing purposes
  • may attend General Meetings (but not vote)

UCISA Individual membership is available to those who have worked in the sector and who wish to retain a connection with UCISA and its membership and is at the sole discretion of the Executive Committee. It is not available to employees of organisations that might otherwise be UCISA Corporate members. The purpose of individual membership is to allow interested parties maintain their knowledge and understanding of the UCISA community..
