Joining UCISA

UCISA is a registered charity and does not aim to make profits, setting fees only at a level sufficient to carry out its business.

UCISA represents almost all the major UK universities and higher education colleges and has a growing membership among other educational institutions and commercial organisations interested in information systems and technology in UK education.

Certain events, such as conferences, carry an additional charge. Membership fees are reviewed annually at the Annual General Meeting, along with the budget and business plan. There are four membership categories:

Full membership

Full membership is open to all universities, colleges and educational institutions regardless of size and location. Full members will benefit from full access to UCISA resources and mailing lists and is intended to promote the sharing and adoption of best practice. In order to facilitate a strong and collegiate community, information shared amongst full members should be retained within the membership; any transfer of material that could be deemed as commercial intelligence to parent companies or other organisations within the same commercial grouping is forbidden.

Please submit a short descriptive message including a Subject title and url (without quotes) that you wish to distribute to (admin@ucisa.ac.uk) for approval and circulation. Permission must be obtained from a partner institution mentioned in a Case Study or Press Release before we will release a message so please arrange for this to be sent to us. Messages should be in plain text only (not html) and attachments are not permitted. . We do not allow mention of non-member products or services in these mailings except in the case of Resellers. Please be aware that we only send one mailing per day so slots need to booked well in advance to avoid disappointment.
  • There is a Focus On section on the UCISA home page. Hit the refresh button on your browser a couple of times to see the result. To facilitate this we require a 50 word company profile, your company logo and a link to your website. Each company is selected at random every time a user visits the UCISA website.
  • Finally, we have developed a course specifically for our IT Corporate partners, Selling IT to Universities. Understanding of this unique business environment is key to establishing a successful supplier/purchaser relationship. This workshop considers the factors that influence these relationships and the framework mechanisms that govern them.

Affiliate membership

Affiliate membership is open to organisations that are separate legal entities to their host institution (typically a full member), and other educational not for profit organisations.
