Partnerships

UCISA works in partnership with a number of similar organisations on specific topics. Whilst these arrangements are largely informal, UCISA has signed Memoranda of Understanding with JISC and, more recently, Eduserv.

The Memorandum with Eduserv was signed on Thursday 14 January by Peter Tinson, UCISA Executive Secretary and Stephen Butcher, Eduserv Chief Executive. The Memorandum details the roles and commitments from both organisations for the next three years. The organisations will share their knowledge, skills and experience to help universities and colleges benefit from efficient IT including:

  • Access and identity management
  • Licensing of software
  • Content management services
  • Hosting and associated services
  • Dissemination of good practice

Commitments agreed in this Memorandum include:

  • Eduserv sponsoring the UCISA Award for Excellence for the next three years
  • Regular meetings with key suppliers including Adobe, Microsoft and Oracle
  • Sharing knowledge through joint committee and group meetings

UCISA and JISC (the Joint Information Systems Committee) formalised their working partnership with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding at the JISC Conference in March 2009. The arrangement will help define projects and programmes of work, enabling JISC and UCISA to work together in an even more effective and complimentary way.
