TLIG Would you credit IT? - Approaches to IT accreditation

Should we be offering IT skills accreditation to our staff and students? What are the benefits? How does accreditation fit into the institutional training and development strategy? This one day workshop will highlight different approaches to IT skills accreditation within the HE sector. Speakers from several institutions will present case studies covering ECDL, Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) and a "home-grown" scheme. Discussion sessions will allow participants to share their experiences and good practice. Finally, we will look at what the future might hold for IT skills accreditation in HE and other sectors.
