Great Expectations

This year the Support Services Conference (formerly the User Support Conference) is themed around Great Expectations. We won’t be looking at an orphan and how they were tricked into getting debt, instead we will concentrate on the expectations staff, students and visitors have from IT services within a university.

IT has experienced a number of challenges over recent years and, in turn, has made a number of changes. With the introduction of higher fees for the next academic year IT departments are going to be put under even more pressure to enhance the service they provide.

The aim of the Conference is to bring together the different expectations from our various customers, look at how we can continue to deliver, keep up to date and manage our services in order to provide an excellent experience for all.

This year’s Conference is being held at the Crewe Hall hotel. This venue is very flexible, enabling us to have a cabaret layout and undertake more activities together. We will be trying out new ideas, moving the format forward with the aim of enhancing the amount of time to network with your peers, discuss ideas and provide individual ideas and contributions to the conference.
