Using Social Media for training
18 April 2012 University of Salford, MediaCityUK campus
Introduction
Social Media is here to stay and its use is growing at an ever increasing pace. There are 800 million active users on Facebook in less than 6 years. If it were a country it would be the third largest in the world! Social Media and other technology changes e.g. cloud computing, mobile device use, are changing the landscape.
The aim of Using Social Media for Training is to raise awareness of how social media can change our approaches to training and:
- to share best practice from the sector
- to highlight some of the issues surrounding its use and to provide advice on how to deal with them
- to enable you to make informed decisions about the use and potential use of Social Media
- to give you insights on getting started, what tools to use and how to integrate them into other training methods
