The IT department of the future
Five years ago few would have predicted that a significant number of institutions would have outsourced their student email and storage to Google or Microsoft. So what does the future hold? Will the IT department even exist in universities and colleges in five year's time? This session will involve a combination of presentations and discussion to look into the future, to guage the services that may be provided and the new skills required to lead in a different environment.

Leading in challenging circumstances
David Chan Director Centre for Information Leadership, City University London will lead a interactive workshop for participants that explores the issues that faces the Information Leader in challenging environments. The session is interactive and participants are expected to take an active part in role-play and discussions. The session will examine some of the likely skills required of the future information leader. Using experiential learning and article reviews the session should lead participants to reflect on their own perspective of the role of IT within their institutions and gain insights into other perspectives.
