Managers' Forum - Carbon neutral learning?

22 October 2008
Aston Business School

Environmental issues remain high on the agenda. Large increases in fuel costs have brought the need to reduce energy costs sharply into focus; and as the IT services department within an institution is probably the biggest consumer of energy within an institution, the pressure is on IT service departments to take appropriate steps.

Additionally the instigation of green campus league tables have helped encourage institutions to demonstrate that they are becoming more environmentally friendly through introducing new schemes, more sustainable builds and new policies and procedures.

event sponsored by JISC
What are the impacts on IT services? What steps are service departments taking to move to a more sustainable service? Can institutions really move to deliver carbon neutral learning?

Event details to follow, in the meantime please contact admin@ucisa.ac.uk with any questions.
