The Midland Hotel in Manchester with its splendid Victorian architecture is this year's Conference venue. Manchester is a friendly and lively city which has reinvented itself in recent years and is now the capital of northern chic. The Midland sits right in the centre of town and with its beautiful, ornate features and up to date technology, offers the best of both old and new.

Our theme this year is CISG 2.0 indicating just how quickly things move on the technology front. Our programme showcases examples of the use of Web 2.0 to gain business benefit in both HE and industry. We will also be looking at the likely impact of changes to the way research is measured and hear about what is happening on the shared services front. Taking note of feedback at previous events, we have also included an institutional showcase session on the first day where you get the chance to tell others about the marvellous things you are doing. Add to that an excellent suppliers exhibition, a taster session on scenario planning and a networking opportunity par excellence and you wouldn't want to be any where else!
