Frequently asked questions

What is included in the 3 day package?

The full 3 day residential package includes entrance into all the sessions on all days, Wednesday and Thursday nights accommodation, breakfast Thursday and Friday, lunch Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and dinner Wednesday and the Conference dinner on Thursday.

Why isn’t there a discount for married delegates sharing one room?

This is because as soon as you start breaking the discounted 3-day residential package, the cost increases (ie 3 day delegate rates and 2 dinners costs more than the package).  So, our advice is to book the package.

Why is the single day delegate rate (DDR) the same on all 3 days when the first and last days are only ½ days?

This is because the venue still charges us the full DDR whether or not we use the room, as they cannot sell ½ days.

Why is there no seating for lunch?

There are two reasons for this:

  • is because delegates have been sitting down all morning during the Conference sessions and
  • to encourage delegates to circulate around the exhibition stands rather than sitting chatting to colleagues or checking their email.

Why do we have to pay for wifi in the Conference hotels?

This is because most chain hotels worldwide contract their wifi provision out to large telecoms companies to provide and manage this facility so the hotel has no control over the charging.

However this year, at Celtic Manor, Newport, there is free wifi throughout the hotel so no additional charge.

Why does the hotel require a swipe of a credit card on check in?

Hotels request a credit card authorisation or cash deposit for incidental charges for all guests on arrival.  This is to cover guests leaving without paying additional charges, as well as for potential damage.
