Venue


This year's Conference will be held in Harrogate. The Conference and Exhibition will be in the Harrogate International Centre.

Harrogate International Centre's generous and versatile, conference and exhibition space makes it the one of the largest venues in the UK.  Located in the spa town of Harrogate there are great hotels, fantastic restaurants, bars and shops within walking distance of Harrogate International Centre and good transport links to Harrogate from all over the UK.

The Conference hotels are The Majestic Hotel and Old Swan Hotel both only 5 minutes walk from the Centre (Please note there is no internet available in the bedrooms at The Old Swan)

Wednesday – Informal dinner at Old Swan
From the revolving wooden doors to the magnificent glass-ceilinged restaurant, the ivy clad Old Swan Hotel is steeped in mystery and romance. This historic Harrogate hotel was once the secret retreat of world-famous Mistress of Mystery, Agatha Christie, when she disappeared for 10 days in 1926. It was also the location of the film Agatha. Modern comforts complement a host of original features and the hotel's private gardens provide a peaceful retreat in the heart of Harrogate.

Ruby Wax is best known for her comedy work in TV documentaries and interviewing celebrities, such as Imelda Marcos and Pamela Anderson. She also made several guest appearances in Absolutely Fabulous (on which she was also script editor). She has presented a TV quiz show and she was one of the celebrity contestants on Comic Relief does Fame Academy, which was a spin off from the BBC's Fame Academy. Ruby has also performed at the Royal Shakespeare Company for five years.
