UCISA returns to Glasgow for the 2008 Management Conference and this year we pose the question - Is IT good for us?.
The themes the 2008 Conference aim to address this by looking at the contribution that IT can play in important parts of our lives. Sir Alan Langlands, Principal of the the University of Dundee, will provide an opening talk welcoming the Conference to Scotland and futurist, Chris Luebkeman of Ove Arup, will set the scene with an overview of some of the likely scenarios to emerge in the 21st century.
An impressive array of experts populate the key themes of IT in health, national security, community and sociality in the age of the internet. We have a strong social programme that includes a return to the newly refurbished, stunning Kelvingrove Museum.
It's now traditional to have an uplifting finish to the event and this year we have Adrian Webster, one of the most popular motivational speakers in the UK today, looking to inspire you to success.
A wiki has been set up to allow discussion of the presentations and interaction between delegates. See http://ucisa2008.wetpaint.com/, |
