Current activities

UCISA bids for funds to support the development of toolkits and to share best practice.  The most recent example is the development of a resource to allow the financial cost of IT downtime to be calculated. Other resources produced from projects include the Information Security Toolkit and a set of resources for implemention of ITIL in a higher education setting. 

In addition to this, UCISA maintains ongoing relationships with key organisations within the sector and keeps a watching brief on areas of interest such as shared services and outsourcing of email and data storage. UCISA also has membership of a number of steering and advisory groups, detailed below.

• Information Standards Board Supplier Special Interest Group;
• Future Leaders Programme Steering Group;
• Learning Records Service HE Advisory Group;
• And a number of steering groups for JISC programmes.
