Advisory and Support Staff Symposium 2009
7 July 2009
- 8 July 2009 Aston Business School Conference Centre, Birmingham
We are delighted to invite you to the Advisory and Support Staff Symposium 2009 which will be held over two days at the Aston Business School Conference Centre.
After a major investment, the Conference Centre opened at the beginning of 2006 and provides award winning cuisine, 4-star standard en-suite bedrooms and the latest technology within Aston University’s green and tranquil campus at arguably one of the most accessible locations in the UK. |
 |
| The theme for the 2009 Symposium is "It's not what you do, it's the way that you do it". The event draws on the strengths of both the UCISA Service Desk Group (formally known as the Advisory Services Working Group) and the Distributed IT Support Staff (DITSS) Subgroup. The organisers have put together a programme which aims to address the needs of staff involved in the delivery, management or planning of advisory services in IT departments, libraries and MIS departments and distributed IT support staff working individually or in small groups away from the main centres. The programme explores issues of common interest and also provides a dual strand to allow delegates to pick and choose which items best address their individual needs. |
|
 | As delegates to previous events will know, we have an excellent social programme to give you the opportunity to network with your colleagues. There will be a drinks reception followed by the symposium dinner at Aston Business School's main restaurant which offers creative, international culinary delights. You will later have the opportunity to unwind at the end of the day on one of the big black leather sofas in the comfortable and stylish lounge with a late bar. Should the weather be good to us, there is also the courtyard at the focal point of the Conference Centre. This landscaped feature is a breath of fresh air and the perfect place to take a seat on the deck in the summer sunshine.
We very much hope that you will join us at the Advisory and Support Staff Symposium 2009!
