This event is aimed at central and distributed IT support staff and looks at some of the challenges facing both groups especially those relating to collaborative working between the centre and distributed staff, as IT/IS is now a business-critical service within our institutions. The symposium offers a unique opportunity for all IT support staff to come together and share experiences as well as to receive an update on relevant activity already taking place within the sector.

Symposium sessions will cover current working practices and opportunities for adoption of 'best practice', professional and operational relationships between distributed and central IT/IS staff, professional development opportunities, procurement practices and a range of current IT support issues.

There will be lots of opportunities to discuss problems and solutions with staff from other institutions as we aim to share best practice and to highlight and discuss a number of the top concerns facing IT support staff today.

The symposium will be held at St. Anne's College, Oxford. The College web site gives information on the College, travelling to the College and on the conference facilities. Please note that there is no parking at the College and parking in Oxford in general is very difficult so travel by public transport is strongly recommended.
