Adrian Ellison biography

Adrian Ellison BSc (Hons), PRINCE2, MSP, FRSA

Adrian Ellison is an IT professional with over 15 years' experience working in higher education sector in the UK. Currently at the London School of Economics and Political Science, where he heads up the Technical Infrastructure Group within IT Services, Adrian was previously IT Director at Royal Holloway, University of London, and before that, held a variety of posts at the University of Leeds.

Adrian is a graduate of the University of Bristol, a qualified PRINCE2 project manager, a qualified MSP programme manager, and in 2005 was elected a fellow of the RSA.

In 2010 Adrian was elected chair of the Infrastructure Group and member of the executive committee of the Universities and Colleges Information Systems Association (UCISA, a national body that represents the higher education community in the provision and development of information systems and provides a network of contacts and a powerful lobbying voice). Also in 2010, Adrian successfully completed the Leadership Foundation’s Top Management Programme, designed to help develop strategic leaders holding some of the most senior roles in higher education.

In his ‘spare time’ Adrian is one of the founding Trustees of AACT for Children, a developing charity whose mission is to enable Information Technology to be used to help people, particularly children, with communication disabilities and to promote the wider understanding of such disabilities. He is also a director of a property management company.

A keen motorcyclist, Adrian is a member of the Institute for Advanced Motorists and recently qualified as a Motorcycle Observer, being able to coach others into passing their advanced test.

He also enjoys good food and wine, photography, creative writing, gismos and shoes.
