Managers Forum on Green IT

27 October 2010
Universities UK, London

Environmental issues have been gaining increasing significance in recent years. An environmentally conscious student population and green league tables have resulted in institutions introducing a wide variety of initiatives to reduce waste and the overall carbon footprint. Further the Funding Councils, in line with Government policy, have sought to encourage measures to reduce power consumption. IT service departments have played their part, taking steps to reduce their contribution to their institution’s carbon footprint through measures such as virtualisation, power down software for desktop equipment and more efficient data centre operation

This forum will showcase some of the work currently taking place in institutions and highlight the benefits of adopting a green approach.

The programme is being finalised and will be available shortly. The forum, being held at Woburn House, London, will commence at 10:15 (registration from 09:30) and will close at 16:15.
