The UCISA-CIS Group maintains links with several other bodies both within UCISA itself and with external bodies.

Universities UK (http://www.universities.ac.uk/)
The UUK provides a representative voice when talking to Government, and Officers in the CVCP co-operate with Groups in Higher Education. This co-operation is through a number of topic-focused Groups (Information Systems, including, among others, Libraries; Engineering and Manufacturing; Biology and Biotechnology; Humanity and the Arts; Staff and Students; Finance and Management; Registrars).

The Higher Education Statistics Agency was set up following the merger of the old University and Polytechnic sectors to take over the functions of its predecessor, the Universities Statistical Record (USR) in providing statistical information to the Funding Councils to inform the Funds Allocation processes. The preparation of these statistical returns usually involves some participation by University CIS staff, and the UCISA-CISG committee has a technical contact at HESA, Andy Youell.

The Joint Information Systems Committee provides a range of services to the HE computing sector.

) The Student Loans Company (SLC) is a UK public sector organisation established to provide financial services, in terms of loans and grants, to over one million students annually, in colleges and universities across the four education systems of England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

UCISA-CISG maintains a link with the Universities & Colleges Admissions System through the "UCISA-UCAS Admissions Computer Systems Briefing Meeting" which is a forum for UCAS to discuss technical issues with HE MIS representatives.

A link exists with Brian Kelly who occupies the position of UK Web Focus within the UK Office for Library and Information Networking (UKOLN). Brian contributed to a UCISA-CISG Data Protection Briefing Seminar and has also given presentations on technical issues regarding Copyright.
