Surveys, Polls and HEITS

UCISA conducted a survey of members views on the communications available from UCISA , the results and actions are available. 

In 1996-7 UCISA began gathering statistical information about IT service providers in higher education. This has become an annual exercise, now in its thirteenth year.

Results from previous years are available for comparison. Summary information is publicly available but detailed data is only available to members. The raw data for each return is available to UCISA representatives from Full and Affiliate members only. The information gathered allows certain ratios to be calculated which largely follow those recommended in the Funding Councils' Value for Money Study on Information Systems and Technology Management published in 1998.

The data collection for the 2009/10 exercise is now finished and has been published. 

In addition to its formal statistics exercise UCISA collects data via a variety of surveys and makes this data available to members.

UCISA has also carried out two surveys relating to the JANET network. The first, published in November 2010, considers the resilience of the network. The second focusses on the future funding options and was published in June 2011.
