Higher Education Information Technology Statistics (HEITS)

In 1996-7 UCISA began gathering statistical information about IT service providers in higher education. This has become an annual exercise, now in its fourteenth year.

Results from previous years are available for comparison. Summary information is publicly available but detailed data is only available to members. The raw data for each return is available to UCISA representatives from Full and Affiliate members only. The information gathered allows certain ratios to be calculated which largely follow those recommended in the Funding Councils' Value for Money Study on Information Systems and Technology Management published in 1998.

The 2010/11 HEITS survey was sent via email to the IT Directors of all full and affiliate member institutions on Friday 4 May 2012.    Each email contained a personalised survey link for each institution.  A full list of questions can also be found here.   The closing date for the survey is Wednesday 13 June.
